Family B: again, please forgive the lack of personalization. Part of what I have loved about Brunch With A Purpose is using the children's real first names. However, Brunch has grown so much and we're helping some small counties so it would be too obvious to list their real names and I have to protect their confidentiality.  

These 4 boys live with their mother, who is a single parent. This mother's caseworker could not say enough about the mother. She works incredibly hard to take care of her 4 boys all on her own. She works 2 jobs, including night hours, to try to put food on the table. She is overworked, exhausted, and has put all of her boys' needs ahead of her own to the point where she has ignored her own medical problems. She is a victim of domestic violence and is in the middle of divorcing her husband. After submitting the boys' wish lists, the caseworker called me to tell me all about the mother. She never buys new clothes for herself or gets to do anything special so the caseworker very sweetly asked if there is any way we could do something for the mother. I said yes.  :)

Child B1 is the oldest of 4 boys and helps his mom with his little brothers. He is a great role model to them.  He loves soccer and any other sports. He is the only child that has a different father from his brothers and he's never met his father. He has been through a lot and struggles with how unfairly he was treated by his stepfather, who was violent and hurtful to him. He has been in counseling and is dealing with these hurtful feelings. He is very protective of his mother and is very sweet and well-mannered.

Child B2 is a very smart, energetic boy who loves to paint pictures and is reading on his own. He is the most quiet of his brothers and is a very good listener. He loves to play with legos, ride his skateboard, and his bike. He is very sweet and loving. He has, though, been very affected by his parents' problems (domestic violence, lots of fighting, separation) and has been going to counseling to work through these issues.

Child B3 is 5 years old and the most energetic of all the boys. He always has to be doing something to keep himself occupied. He likes video games (Super Mario Brothers and Sonic are his favorites) and he also loves sports. Of all the children, he has been the most affected by his parents' problems. He has witnesses a lot of fighting between his parents and has been very angry with their separation. He has been rebellious and frustrated with all he's been through but is still a very sweet boy who really loves his family.

Child B4 is a very happy little boy who loves and craves attention. He loves to cuddle, play games, and is always laughing and smiling. He loves being around his big brothers!
