Family E: again, please forgive the lack of personalization. Part of what I have loved about Brunch With A Purpose is using the children's real first names. However, Brunch has grown so much and we're helping some small counties so it would be too obvious to list their real names and I have to protect their confidentiality.  

This family has had a really hard time. These two boys live with their mother and grandmother in a tiny apartment. They have really struggled as their father has been in and out of their lives. They have been exposed to domestic violence and an incredibly contentious divorce. The family struggles to pay the bills and put food on the table but they are happy to finally be in a safe and happy environment. This mother is the only mother who filled out the referral form and asked for three things that would have cost about $30 total. I handed the form back to her, telling her that we would be doing a little more than a toy car, transformer and a basketball. She is very grateful for and really shocked by our help. I'd really like to do something for the grandmother and mother, too, because they have been through so much and would never expect a thing!
