Child L1 (1 year old male):

Family L: please forgive the lack of personalization. Part of what I have loved about Brunch With A Purpose is using the children's real first names. However, Brunch has grown so much and we're helping some small counties so it would be too obvious to list their real names and I have to protect their confidentiality. 

Child L1 is a really sweet little boy who lives with his parents. They are very young and he was definitely not a planned addition to their family. The mother told me that they are involved with Social Services because she made a lot of "really dumb choices." But, she has gotten help from the child welfare system and Child L1 is thriving in his parents' care. They are extremely poor and asked for very basics for Child L1 such as crib bedding. The mother was so super-grateful for our help.

A really cool aspect of this story is that a woman (Kelli) saw us on CBS last year and posted on our website. She couldn't help last year because she saw us the day of brunch. But, she got all of her employees to pool together their resources and they sponsored (and shopped for) Child L1- and then drove all the way from Highlands Ranch in a snow storm to deliver the gifts!  Thank you Kelli and your wonderful Target coworkers!
