Family N: please forgive the lack of personalization. Part of what I have loved about Brunch With A Purpose is using the children's real first names. However, Brunch has grown so much and we're helping some small counties so it would be too obvious to list their real names and I have to protect their confidentiality.

This case is one of the worst that their caseworkers has seen. The family was added to Brunch With A Purpose just yesterday (Dec. 21) because they were placed out of the home on an emergency basis. The children recently moved to Colorado with their mother and have remained homeless since arriving. Their father killed himself in prison. The mother is constantly seeking out perpetrator men so the children have experienced homelessness, poverty, and horrendous abuse. The children arrived into foster care with absolutely nothing. Their caseworker is scrambling to make sure they have some toys to open on Christmas day and we are supplying the foster home with bunk beds, mattresses, and clothes for the children.
