Iris (10 years old), Evelyn (8 years old), Alexia & Alyssa (9 year old twins)

Iris and Evelyn are sisters who live with their first cousins, Alexia and Alyssa. We sponsored these girls last year and they are so special to me. Alexia and Alyssa's mother took in Iris and Evelyn when their mother died of cancer and their father could no longer take care of them due to alcoholism. To say the family is struggling financially would be an understatement. The aunt works insane hours to provide for the girls and makes very little money. She pays over $700 a month (a large percentage of what she makes) on health insurance for all four children. She treats all four as her daughters. What the family lacks in finances, they make up for in love. Last year a dear family friend who's daughter passed away from cancer bought LL Bean backpacks for all 4 girls with their names on them. They were absolutely delighted! These children almost never get personalized gifts so to have their names on such a nice backpack was super-exciting to them! Thanks to everyone's help last year, these girls are set with toys (they still love their baby dolls) but have outgrown the clothes we got them. Their aunt is one of the most grateful people that I've met and wanted me to thank everyone profusely!
